Since our last blog report, we have had a very busy Lent and Easter with services on Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday, Good Friday and of Course Easter Sunday.
We have been most fortunate with the arrival in April of the Louth Detachment of Lincolnshire Army Cadets Force, led by Captain Mick Webber, Detachment Commander for Louth. The Cadets have assisted in work to the Churchyard as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Awards. These young men have done a magnificent job in helping to clear the south churchyard and have worked extremely hard. We also had their company in continuing the work on the south churchyard again on the 4th May. It was a delight to have them with us and we give a hearty thank you for all their hard work. They are due to continue next month, when they hope to clean the Great War Memorial and to re-inscribe the names of those local men who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
The Saturday Shop continues to thrive thanks to the hard work of Freda and her team, with also our first very successful fashion show of the year taken place. All are welcome to come along on Saturdays to enjoy a coffee and bacon roll/tea cake; you may even find a bargain to take home!
We are looking forward to our first organised Summer Funday, where we will be organising fun and games for everyone. The fun will begin at 11.30am and continue until everyone’s had enough. Entry and the games are free from charge and we again welcome the Army Cadets who will be setting up an assault coarse and assisting with the many games we have planned. Refreshments will be available at a reasonable price from Freda and her team.
